Since the establishment of SAE Institute in 1976 by Dr. Tom Misner, SAE Institute has continued growing as an international network of post secondary education schools providing audio, digital film, multimedia, animation and game development training. SAE Institute is represented in twenty countries on four continents. SAE has six institutes in the US: New York, Nashville, Atlanta, Miami, LA, and now San Francisco! SAE's Alumni Association is truly global. |
Construction is underway at SAE's newest location. SAE San Francisco is located at 450 Bryant Street in the historic SOMA district of San Francisco. Right across from South Park, the school occupies over 13,000 square feet of prime creative space. The new school will offer 20 recording studios and workstations as well as three full A/V classrooms. The SOMA area is home to several technology headquarters and branch locations for companies such as Wired, Sega of America, CNET Networks, Current TV, and Ubisoft. Thanks to the support of SAE Institute, the Apple OS X version of the popular free audio editing software will be available for download as of November 17, 2008. Digital recording, mixing with professional plugins, fast, intuitive editing, audio analysis of percussive material plus simple time- and pitch correction … and all of this for free? Enter the SAE version of Ardour for OS X! In April 2007, SAE Institute agreed to become a corporate sponsor for the Ardour project. Focus of the collaboration between Paul Davis, creator and developer of Ardour, and Armand Klenk, Head Instructor Audio at SAE Munich, was the development of an OS X version of the Linux-based software. A special student version, created in a parallel effort, will now make the open-source digital audio workstation even more accessible to beginners. Ardour has become a fixture in many European universities and other educational institutions and is routinely employed in experimental research projects. The SAE version of Ardour for OS X will be available for download by CLICKING HERE. |
